Response

The term response is according to the EU definition (EC, 2003 Analysis of Pressures and Impacts) "The measures taken to improve the state of the water body".
Quantification Tools (QT) may be helpful in assessing the consequence of different changes to e.g. agricultural practices in a catchment as long as the QT captures the most important processes with respect to nutrient transport. The Quantification Tools in the EUROHARP project were, inter alia, evaluated in terms of their ability to simulate changes in agricultural management practice. The evaluation was based on the functional approaches defined in the Quantification Tools (Schoumans and Silgram, (2003)) and based on a systematic comparison of the response of different QTs to specific changes in agricultural practice in the EUROHARP catchments. General information about how the different QTs predicted measured data can be found in Search in Model performance. By selecting but also in the reports describing the results of QT simulations in the 17 EUROHARP catchments.
