He
holds a MSc in marine biology, University of Oslo.
He has experience in research and development
since 1985, mostly related to fishfarming
methodologies, oil pollution, environmental impact
assessments and eutrophication monitoring, and
abatement strategies. He worked at the Norwegian
Pollution Control Authority from 1994-2000, where he
gained experience from administrating national
monitoring programmes. He had headed the Norwegian
delegation to several working groups within OSPAR,
mostly related to nutrient issues. He administered
the Norwegian work on the development of the HARP
Guidelines in the period 1996-2000.
